Once you arrive, you’ll collect your keys and get settled into your room. From there, there’s plenty happening across campus, so don’t worry if you don’t have everything figured out straight away.
Meet your new community
Your first few days are a great time to say hello to the people around you. You might meet your closest friends in your flat, at a hall event, through sport or simply by chatting to someone in the corridor.
Hall committees and Wardens will be running welcome activities and socials throughout the week, giving you plenty of chances to get involved and meet people outside your flat too.
And remember, everyone is in the same boat. If you’re feeling nervous, you won’t be the only one.
Make yourself at home
Once the boxes are unpacked, take some time to explore your hall and campus. Find your nearest shop, work out where your lectures will be and get familiar with the places you’ll be spending your time.
You don’t need to have everything sorted on day one. Give yourself time to settle in and enjoy those first few days.
